Awards galore and thank you note !

It has been a while since I have been procrastinating. But before things get beyond my control I need to get hold of  the reins. The internet connection here in the North East works at a slug’s pace and so I have ended piling on awards without ever expressing by gratitude through a post.

In fact even as I write this post I am a little worried that I may perhaps, unwittingly, skip someone out . In that case please consider it my absentmindedness and don’t hesitate to remind me so I may update my post again !

So here are the awards I have received over the last few months… I would like to thank each one of these bloggers for nominating me for these awesome awards that inspire and motivate me to keep writing and clicking !

Once again my sincere gratitude to all those who nominated me and showered me  with all their love ….

Be proud of yourself !

‘Pride’…. the word itself has its complications. In fact , it is very much like common salt .  The excess of salt ruins the whole palette , while  less of it , doesn’t let us enjoy  the flavors of the food . Sprinkle just the right amount , and it can work wonders !

Similarly  if you have too much ‘Pride’ packed into your personality  ,  you will bloat and collapse under the weight of it .

‘Pride hath a fall’ , is a moral lesson infused into us right from our kindergarten days . Remember the story of  ‘The hare and the tortoise’ ?

Yet , without this  ‘Pride’  ,  you are left with a deflated ego and a low self esteem. Not a good thing to have either…..

But just the ‘right’ amount will let you flower and touch new heights …

Pride , is a feeling of ‘worth’ , that one may feel for one’s own self  or for another person .

Throughout our lives , we are searching for this ‘self worth’ in the eyes of another person. As a child we crave for that one approving look from our mom or that one motivating pat from our dad .

Sometimes we get it in abundance , sometimes we do not . Even when we grow up , we do the same . Just that,  now  it is not our parental  approval  that we seek but that of our peers .

A word of praise , a nod of agreement , and sometimes even hugs .  As we move on in life , no matter how much we achieve , a thumbs up from our better half ,  a kiss from our little one ,  can still go on to make a lot of difference in our life !

A few times , verbal  and  a few times in gestures , your close ones do tell you how proud they are of you . And sometimes , there are occasions when you may not receive these magical words for something you expect , but then that is life , bear with it !

However ,  life does not end there . I believe , each one of us , is the best judge of our own  ‘self worth’.  When one becomes aware of one’s own strengths and weaknesses ,  is the time one learns to live  with both ; to coexist in happiness.

Realizing one’s problem areas and trying to rectify them , is a sign of maturity . Also , a person who accepts his skills and good qualities , without letting them hamper his sensibilities  , is a socially mature individual .

Taking pride in oneself is a very good way of staying happy and content . Of course , as I have stated before , this pride should only encourage one to improve upon themselves , rather than demean others .

People who put down others or try to humiliate them are those who , in reality have a poor self worth . In fact , these poor humans are victims of insecurities and frustrated egos , that they try to boost incorrectly by being pompous and disapproving towards others .

I have heard a lot of homemakers forever crib about their better halves or kids never appreciating them or being verbal with their feelings .

But what I would like to say is  that the deepest feelings are felt , not told . Besides , learn to be proud of your own self first and the world will follow. A person content in himself , will not have to seek happiness and approval from others .

Of course , we all love to hear somebody tell us ,  ‘I am so proud of you.’  But your worth shouldn’t be a matter  to be judged at the whims of  your family and peers.  Never let their opinions about you change the way you perceive  yourself .  Your worth  should be judged by you and you alone  – you , who is deserving and  beautiful ,  in every which way……….

So tonight before you go to bed , look at yourself in the mirror and say , ‘I am so proud of you !’.

Love yourself . Be proud of the unique person you are , yet modest in your attitude towards others . Do things that will make you proud about yourself , improve yourself everyday and the world will applaud , sooner or later !

Awards again !

Alright so before we step into the year 2015 , it is time for me to accept and express gratitude for some awards I have been nominated for in the last one month .

First of all I would like to extend my warm gratitude to Dr Aruna of Ripples n reflections for nominating me for the ‘Inspiring blogger’ award . I am indeed humbled , especially receiving it from someone like Dr Aruna , who has been a source of inspiration for me ,ever since I joined this blogosphere , a few months ago . Her blog is a reflection of her honest and straight forward self and you may check out her blog for some great write ups , lovely poetry and some fun reads !

Secondly I would like to thank my fellow blogger Wanda of A girl called Wanda for nominating me for the ‘One lovely blog’ award . Although I have received this award once before , I would like to accept it as a token of appreciation for my work . I feel , one can never have enough of love and awards ! You must check out Wanda’s blog for her light hearted posts which mostly revolve around her motherhood experiences with her two wonderful kids !

Now for me to nominate a few of those blogs which have inspired me in some way or another . Those nominated , may feel free to  accept the award , without the need for nominating anyone else further … Also , if you have been awarded before , please accept this has a token of my appreciation for your blog …

Apart from these , there are a few I would like to mention , for the fact that their blogs have also in some manner or another , inspired me to write better ,click better or think better. These blogs have perhaps been already awarded the inspiring blogger award by Dr Aruna , but I cannot help mentioning them here in my post , because they inspired me too :

That is all for now…

take care all

To my followers , with ‘gratitude’ , lots of it !

Daily post prompt

It has been about four months , since I began this ‘blog’ , and since then , I have only felt more blessed , more appreciated and more welcome in this world , than I have ever felt before in this life .

Like any other person who starts his/her own blog , my main motive for doing so , was  personal in nature – to write and voice out my thoughts , in a world , I was not  yet sure of and , to have at least one odd person , be inspired by what I write or say !

I have always been fond of penning down things and my fascination for poetry writing began when I was in my fifth grade and I was asked to write a poem on ‘mother’ ! To my utter surprise , I won the first prize in that competition , and that is what encouraged me to write further…And soon my diary was filled with poems for my entire family !

I continued the tradition of jotting down things , even after my daughter was born , but it is this blog ,which now motivates me to write , click pictures  and think more creatively , than I did before.

What I have managed to gain from this blog has been much greater than all this .

Other than ,realizing my own creative potential  ,an increased sense of self esteem and an improvement in my writing skills , I have got the wonderful opportunity to interact with so many lovely people , make new friends , learn a few lessons from their lives , get inspired to travel to some beautiful places , study different cultures and of course , imbibe some good things into my own life as well.

So , although I had been planning to come out with this post some time soon , this Daily post prompt has acted as a catalyst , leading me to  write this thanks giving post 🙂

When I started this blog , I did so with ‘zero’ followers…The wordpress allows me to link my posts to ‘Facebook share’ , there by adding , my facebook friends to my list of followers ! But , I did not want that… I preferred to have a list of my own exclusive and genuine followers , even if it meant having none or perhaps one !

But the world is full of surprises and very soon , the number started increasing and today I can proudly say I have 191 followers ( oddly enough , I was waiting for the number to turn 200 , before I wrote this post , if it were not for this prompt ! )

I know this number doesn’t hold much significance for a lot of you who have followers going up to thousands and more..

But , I view this as a teeny weeny achievement , and I take this opportunity to thank each and every single one of my followers who have seen my blog go through its period of evolution !

I may have visited your blogs , followed back some of you , but I know there are quite a few whom I have , although not deliberately , ignored . But I will certainly  take some time out to visit each one of you , on the next available opportunity !

There have a few of you ,who have actively supported me in my sojourn , guiding me with your advice , motivating me with your kinds words or simply indicating your appreciation through your regular and consistent ‘likes’ . And I am sure those who haven’t have their reasons too … 😉

I take this post as an opportunity to express my gratitude for all those  views , the awesome awards , lovely comments , genuine feed backs , likes, ping backs and follows ! You have made my blog what it is today ( not that it is a great one , but at least it is presentable 😛 )

Here are a few lines expressing my gratitude to each one of you.... :

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart,

For being with me ,from my ‘start’

For the kind words , and cute remarks,

and pointing out my mistakes ,’stark’ !

For appreciating the good in me ,

A ‘thank you’ being the only ‘fee’…

Thanks for always being there ;

and for being so  clearly fair…

Thanks for your love ,which I cherish ;

And for every kind and beautiful wish !

Thanking you all for your continuous support and looking forward for your encouragement in the future too…

Till then , take care all and stay happy 🙂
