Buddha – my muse ( Weekly Photo Challenge – Muse )

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Muse.”

In this week’s challenge , we have been asked anout our muse , something that inspires us always … Well . I think for me , it is undoubtedly the images and statues of Buddha. Each time I spot a  Buddha figurine, I cannot resist taking out my camera and clicking an image of it.

Those of you who have been following my blog since some time , will agree about my fetish. Here is the latest picture of Buddha , this time I did not step out of my house for it. I just shot them in my living room….

A Rainbow ! – Weekly Photo Challenge ( Part 2)

https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/roy-g-biv/

When I read this week’s photo challenge theme , I realized that I did not really remember seeing a real rainbow in my entire life . And so  I consider it no less than a coincidence that only yesterday, this changed. On my way from Ootacamund ( popularly known as ooty – a famous tourist spot and hill station situated in the Nilgiris , the blue mountains of  South India) , where we celebrated the greater part of our weekend – shopping and eating, I got to see the first ever rainbow of my life !

It was about four thirty in the evening when we started our drive back  through the hilly terrain and beautiful tea estates, to get back to our home in Wellington.Unfortunately the weather had become rather unruly with trees uprooting due to the strong winds and  falling on the roads, blocking them.  We met a similar fate and had to revert back to take another route.

It was then that we spotted it, bright and colorful , the vibrant arch adorning the partially cloudy, partially sunny sky . My daughter jumped with delight at the very sight of it . Although it was raining outside, we decided to stop the car, while I got out with my camera trying to capture this stunning miracle of nature. But since I was afraid the lens would be damaged due to the rain , I had to take some quick, and rather hasty pictures of this natural wonder.

I related to my husband the coincidence of it as the weekly photo challenge this week also has the theme of  ROY G.BIV , the  rainbow colors ! So here are some shots for you to enjoy. The vibgyor running through the vast blue sky overlooking the tea plantations .

In love once more…

IMG_7696-002

He was

just another

lonely soul

bereft of love

betrayed in love

till he began to sing

Beware of love

and then one day

he beheld her

as she descended

from the skies

like an angel

and he knew

in that moment ephemeral –

He had lost his heart once more

Yes, he was in love, all over again !

A new abode !

Well, for those of you, among my fellow bloggers and followers, who have been wondering about my whereabouts, owing to my absence in the blogosphere , I owe you all a big apology. But the good news is that I have finally shifted to our new abode,  Wellington,  a quaint town nestled in ‘BLUE MOUNTAINS’ or the NILGIRIS , the mountains of  south India.

Presently I am enjoying the salubrious climes of this beautiful region while  my friends, in most other parts of India are either burning under the scorching summer sun or drenched from head to toe by the monsoons .

It has been a week  here now and a very hectic one at that.

As I have mentioned in some of my previous posts the life of an army wife is a busy one. In addition to the unpacking, starting up the kitchen and other daily chores , one is expected to be around for other social events as well…lectures, ladies club meetings and loads of parties and get- together. Besides my little one has also started her school here so I had my hands full which is why I found little time to even read my notifications, let alone write new posts.

Today being a Sunday was much more relaxed and hence I decided to pen down this post to remind you all of my existence 😉 I look forward to getting a lot of inspiration from this naturally well endowed place, surrounded by greenery with its lush tea gardens bringing them here for you all to see.

I guess it will be another month or so before I can call my self ‘completely settled’ in my new environs. Till then I shall try and keep posting whenever I can and catch up with your posts too.

This week’s theme for the photo challenge is ‘Vivid’

The dictionary definition of the word ‘vivid’ is :

1.: of a color :  very strong :  very high in chroma
2:  having the appearance of vigorous life or freshness :  lively
3:  producing a strong or clear impression on the senses :  sharp, intense;specifically :  producing distinct mental images

Hope my images create the same desired effect on your senses 🙂
